Happy Veterans Day!
Imagine my surprise upon reading this week's Planet and finding that, once again, I am, entirely unintentionally, Tampa Bay's alt-weekly darling.
I personally had a great time at Oystercatcher's. One thing that didn't make it into the review, but which really spiced up the evening for me, was that fellow blogger Joe Bardi and I don't eat seafood. At all. So I proposed a fun, little game wherein I picked a dish for him and he picked a dish for me. Of course, he was so sweetly game that I ended up picking a big, juicy steak for him, but he did have a nibble of the halibut he picked for me, and we both sampled the crab cakes, so I felt like everyone had expanded their horizons a bit.
Also, don't forget that today is Veterans Day. And do you know who the National Veterans Day Spokesperson is? Why, it's Jennifer Love Hewitt! Of course it is! Endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and everything! That is just plain weird.
